How to change the case of text

  1. Type or paste your text. It can be a sentence, a paragraph or a list of names, one per line.

  2. Every conversion appears below as you type, grouped into text cases and programming cases.

  3. Press Copy on the format you need and paste it wherever you want.

When to use each format

Fixing caps lock

Text typed with caps lock on becomes readable again with Sentence case, which keeps capitals only at the start of each sentence.

Headlines

Title Case capitalizes every word, a common style for English headlines, product names and menu items.

Variables and functions

camelCase is the convention in JavaScript and Java, snake_case in Python and SQL, and CONSTANT_CASE for constants.

URLs and CSS

kebab-case is used for URL slugs, CSS classes and file names, because hyphens are easy to read and safe in addresses.

How the conversions work

Text formats keep your text exactly as written, accents and punctuation included. Title Case capitalizes the first letter of every word, and Sentence case capitalizes only the first letter after a period, question mark, exclamation mark or line break. Opening ¿ and ¡ are handled, so Spanish sentences start correctly.

Programming formats first split the text into words: at spaces and punctuation, and also inside words that are already in camelCase or PascalCase, so userName or HTMLElement are split correctly. Accents are removed (ñ becomes n, é becomes e) because most programming languages and systems expect plain ASCII identifiers. Each line is converted separately, so you can paste a list.

Title Case here is a simple rule that capitalizes every word. Style guides such as AP or Chicago keep short words like "of" or "and" in lowercase; adjust those by hand if your guide requires it. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is stored.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between camelCase and PascalCase?

Both join words without spaces and capitalize each word. camelCase starts with a lowercase letter (userName), while PascalCase starts with a capital (UserName), which is typical for class and component names.

When should I use snake_case or kebab-case?

snake_case uses underscores and is common in Python, Ruby and database columns. kebab-case uses hyphens and is used in URLs, CSS classes and file names.

Why are accents removed in the programming formats?

Many languages, databases and systems only accept ASCII letters in identifiers. Removing accents gives names that work everywhere, such as configuracion instead of configuración.

Does Title Case follow a style guide?

It capitalizes every word, which is the simplest and most predictable rule. Guides such as AP or Chicago add exceptions for short words, which you may need to adjust by hand.

Can I convert many lines at once?

Yes. Text formats keep your line breaks, and programming formats convert each line separately, which is handy for lists of field or variable names.
